The Mayor of Cannes David Lisnard was elected on Tuesday President of the Association of French Mayors (AMF - l'Association des maires de France), which met at the congress in Paris. He received 62.34% of the vote against 37.66% from his rival Philippe Laurent, mayor of the Paris suburb of Sceaux. These are the first national responsibilities of Mr. Lisnard, who has served as Mayor of Cannes since 2014.
